Yiannis Adamakis work

I travel, I expect, I wander.
The destination, a promise.
I arrive in the city.
Streets, smells, wishes.
Presence of people. Traces recent, past, hidden, forgotten.
Traces humble, majestic, imposing, glittering, shiny, trivial, ineffective.
I get lost, choose contradictory routes, hide in the crowd, stop at the red light. I claim my privacy. I feel invisible, light. I wash away my ideas.
I am dazzled by the lights of the stage. I change roles.
I get excited at the possibility of a chance meeting.
Then I get tired.
I regress to the loneliness of my daily life. I return to plans that didn’t work out, to illusory promises, to events, plans, aspirations. I wander again in familiar spaces, I don’t stumble over furniture, I record experiences, I record images, I relive my thoughts.
