Athos – Colors of Faith | Stratos Kalafatis

Within the context of Antiparos International Photo Festival 2021 events, our team is pleased to announce acclaimed photographer Stratos Kalafatis as Guest of Honour.
Bringing his visual of the Wild Side, Kalafatis will present photographs of his global reach essay, “Athos: Colors of Faith”. The artist, having visited Mt. Athos on a regular basis for the past several years, grasps and captures what is changing in the shades of faith, in that farrago of buildings, pictures, relics, manuscripts, absurd little secrets and major revelations.
Α unique artistic journey in this 1,000 year-old male-only religious community in Greece will be hosted at the Anti Art Gallery, Kastro Antiparos, from 10 to 30th July 2021.
Stratos Kalafatis was born in Kavala in 1966.
He graduated from the Physical Education and Athletics department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and then he attended photography classes at the Art Institute of Philadelphia, U.S.A. He lives in Thessaloniki and has created, along with Lia Nalbantidou, STUDIOTESSERA, a photography platform with educational, publishing and artistic activities. During the last thirty years, he has been presenting his photographic works at private galleries, museums, festivals and artistic events throughout the world. His works are included in private and public collections.
